Michael McKean, a.k.a. David St. Hubbins is Spinal Tap's lead singer and guitarist. The blonde-haired frontman has a penchant for pomp and New Age gibberish. He started the group with Tufnel in 1964 as the Originals.

Harry Shearer is better known to Tapheads as the swaggering bass-God Derek Smalls. This pipe-smoking realist and resident band peacemaker is known for his muttonchop facial hair and is probably Tap's smartest member

Christopher Guest is wild axe-man Nigel Tufel. Priding himself on his solos, he is the innocent, confused manchild who is David's oldest and dearest friend and closest collaborator. He is known for his massive guitar collection.
